AntarKatha is a community of writers, poets, and storytellers. These guidelines exist to ensure that everyone feels welcome, safe, and inspired to share their creative work. By using AntarKatha, you agree to follow these guidelines.
TL;DR: Be kind, be original, be respectful. Write stories that bring people together, not tear them apart.
1. Content Standards
What We Encourage
- Original stories, poems, shayari, and creative writing in Hindi and/or English
- Thoughtful, constructive comments and feedback on others' work
- Personal essays, confessions, and reflections (anonymous confessions are available)
- Story series and collaborative writing projects
- Creative use of writing prompts
- Sharing AI-generated art that complements your stories
What Is Not Allowed
- Plagiarism:Do not copy others' work and claim it as your own. Always credit original authors if referencing or adapting existing work.
- Hate Speech: No content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, caste, or any other protected characteristic.
- Harassment & Bullying: No targeted attacks, threats, intimidation, or persistent unwanted contact toward any user.
- Explicit Sexual Content Involving Minors: Absolutely prohibited. Zero tolerance. Such content will be immediately removed and reported to authorities.
- Doxxing:Never share someone's personal information (real name, address, phone number, etc.) without their explicit consent.
- Spam & Self-Promotion: No repetitive posting, excessive self-promotion, or commercial advertising in stories or comments.
- Illegal Content: No content that promotes or facilitates illegal activities under Indian law or international law.
- Impersonation: Do not impersonate other users, public figures, or the AntarKatha team.
- Misinformation: Do not present fiction as fact in a way designed to mislead or cause harm.
2. Mature Content Policy
AntarKatha is a platform for adults (18+). We allow creative expression that may include mature themes (romance, emotional distress, mild language) with these conditions:
- Stories with mature themes should include appropriate content warnings in the title or opening paragraph.
- Gratuitously explicit sexual content or graphic violence is not permitted.
- Romantic and emotional content should be handled with artistic intent, not gratuitous shock value.
3. Community Behavior
- Be Respectful: Treat every community member with dignity. Disagree with ideas, not people. Constructive criticism is welcome; personal attacks are not.
- Support Fellow Writers: Upvote content you enjoy, leave encouraging comments, and help new writers feel welcome.
- Use Appropriate Language: While we support bilingual content (Hindi and English), abusive language, slurs, and excessive profanity are not acceptable in any language.
- Respect Privacy: Do not share private messages or personal information shared in confidence.
- Report, Don't Retaliate: If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines, report it to us rather than engaging in retaliatory behavior.
4. Chat Room Rules
Our real-time chat rooms are spaces for friendly conversation. Additional rules apply:
- No flooding or spamming messages
- No unsolicited promotional links
- Respect the topic of each chat room
- No sharing of NSFW content in public chat rooms
- Be welcoming to new members joining the conversation
5. AI-Generated Content Policy
- AI-generated images are permitted through our built-in AI Art feature.
- AI-generated text content (stories written entirely by AI) should be clearly disclosed. The spirit of AntarKatha is human creativity.
- Do not use AI to generate content that violates any other guideline (hate speech, explicit content, etc.).
- AI-generated image prompts should not attempt to create inappropriate, violent, or explicit content.
6. Voting and Karma
- Vote honestly:Upvote content you genuinely enjoy or find valuable. Downvote content that doesn't contribute to the community.
- No vote manipulation:Creating multiple accounts to upvote your own content or downvote others' content is strictly prohibited.
- No vote brigading: Coordinating with others to mass-upvote or mass-downvote specific content or users is not allowed.
7. Moderation and Enforcement
AntarKatha uses a combination of community moderation and platform-level enforcement to maintain these standards:
- Content Removal: Content that violates these guidelines may be removed without prior notice.
- Warnings: For minor or first-time violations, users may receive a warning and an explanation of the violated guideline.
- Temporary Suspension: Repeated violations may result in a temporary suspension of your account.
- Permanent Ban: Severe violations (hate speech, illegal content, harassment) or persistent repeat offenses may result in a permanent account ban.
- Legal Action: Content that violates Indian law may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Community moderators (identified by their role badges) help maintain the quality of their respective communities. Respect their decisions and follow community-specific rules where applicable.
8. How to Report Violations
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines:
- Email us: Send details of the violation (including a link to the content) to antarkatha1@gmail.com
- Include context: Briefly describe why you believe the content violates our guidelines.
- We'll review: All reports are reviewed within 24 hours. We take every report seriously.
9. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these guidelines from time to time as our community grows and evolves. We will notify the community of significant changes. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the current guidelines.
